Vigan

After the successful incorporation of few pictures to my previous write up "break-up" i got the urge of putting more pictures to this site. Maybe i could make a travel blog? i thought to myself. The problem is i want this site to be as private as possible where no one knows that this exists. But how could that be, the other side of me is telling me to show to the world what i am made of and the other side is telling me to just keep this with me. Although, there is one person who knows this blog-site of mine. My friend who taught me how to create a blog-site. And of course, the random individual who might bump into me through this one, i don't mind the random strangers, the people that i know of scares me when they'll find me here - they will see through me.. lol

Anyways, let it be and back to Vigan.

My work brings me to Vigan. I am a recruitment officer of a medium-size company where my area of responsibility is in Northern Luzon. By the way, Vigan City is in Ilocos, Sur. It is a 10 hour bus ride from Manila.

I have always known that Vigan City houses the Spanish-old homes and buildings, so, when i first arrived there i immediately went to the place they call Vigan Heritage.
The Vigan Heritage is a small narrow alley and to my dismay it doesn't strike me at all. There is no view to look into, it is just an empty street where souvenir shirts and accessories are sold. None, pure dismay and disappointment. Well, I can attribute my frustration to the fact that most travel bloggers, journalists in print and media would often describe Vigan to be very beautiful, historic, and nostalgic.

Not until darkness came when I saw the beauty of Vigan Heritage and immediately I fell in love with it. You don't need to become an expert in travel and tours to love the place. One need not know what kind of architectural designs these buildings have. What it needs to show is the alley's lighting glowing smoothly, passionately, and beautifully against the dark and then you'll find yourself subliminally into it.

Picturesque and the ambiance is just perfectly romantic.

At night, Vigan Heritage is just so amazing.

Visiting tourists who like to grasp Spanish era feel can choose to ride Kalesa. Full stretch ride can cost you from p50 – p100 depending on how generous you are.

Found within the midst of the alley is the Vigan plaza hotel. Its exterior continues to resemble old architectural designs yet this is one of the few buildings that seemed to be renovated and continuously maintained to keep its structural integrity intact. Though due to limited budget I was not able to check into this hotel. From the looks of it, it seemed to provide good and quality service though.

For those with a tight budget like me, there is nothing to worry if your feeling the need to eat cheap foods with unlimited rice since Mang Inasal had found its place in Vigan Heritage already. Custom built to suit the old Spanish era ambiance, Mang Inasal had done a great job.

Likewise, Max Chicken had not only provided great option for a great dine but it also adds beauty to the entire heritage alley. It is found just with in the entrance and with its welcoming and enticing facade, you'll surely have a great dine specially if you have your love ones with you.

To sum it all, Vigan, the way she mysteriously deceived me during the day and amazingly presented herself to me during the night, I definitely recommend this place.
